A voice of the anti-political majority |
|
The Anti Party is the party for independents. Our candidates are people who wish to participate in the political process but do not wish to be constrained by the straitjacket of a political party. Our members, and elected representatives, are free to believe, act and vote as they choose. We avoid having policies, and we do not have "whipping". Our MPs will listen to the debate, form their own judgement, and vote accordingly. Why do independents need a party? Because the electoral system is party-oriented. It does not take overt independents very seriously, and it does not afford them all the privileges of party candidates. And some elections actually include "party lists" and therefore explicitly militate against independents.
